January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month—a time to shine a light on hidden crimes in our communities and unite in the fight against exploitation.
The Orlando Police Department (OPD), through their dedicated Human Trafficking Unit, is partnering with the Central Florida Human Trafficking Task Force to host this year’s Orange County Red Sand Project.
The Red Sand Project is an interactive event that raises awareness for the vulnerabilities of trafficking victims—those who fall through the cracks of our social, economic, and political systems. Participants will symbolically fill sidewalk cracks with red sand to represent those who have been overlooked and stand in solidarity with survivors of human trafficking.
📅 When: Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
📍 Where: OPD Headquarters (1250 W South St, Orlando, FL 32805)
This event coincides with National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, making it a meaningful opportunity to join community leaders, advocates, and survivors in raising awareness about human trafficking and connecting survivors to vital resources.
We welcome task force member agencies to host tables at the event. Limited space is available, so reserve your spot today by completing the form below:
