UA Partners with Leaders From Madagascar, Comoros, and Tajikistan to Fight Human Trafficking

UA Partners with Leaders From Madagascar, Comoros, and Tajikistan to Fight Human Trafficking

May 28, 2024 | BY TOMAS LARES

We recently had the honor to host discussions with policymakers, law enforcement officials, and community leaders from Madagascar 🇲🇬 and Comoros 🇰🇲. These meetings, facilitated by the US Department of State, focused on sharing strategies and insights on protecting their citizens and communities from the threats of human trafficking.

We also connected with leaders from Tajikistan 🇹🇯. Our discussions centered on how we can collectively address the challenges that make our communities susceptible to trafficking. These connections are crucial in understanding the unique contexts of human trafficking in different regions and creating tailored strategies to fight them.

By sharing our expertise and learning from diverse perspectives, we are better equipped to innovate and implement effective solutions. These interactions also allow us to extend our network and strengthen the global response to trafficking.

Dr. Jessica Wickey Byrd of the UCF Center for the Study of Human Trafficking, who also participated in these meetings, highlighted the importance of such global engagement. We are grateful for her partnership and the ongoing support of the US Department of State which has been instrumental in bringing us all together.

Together, we can stop human trafficking!

Freedom 4ALL!
