A Message from Tomas J. Lares, UA Founder/President

Dear Friends, Partners, and Abolitionists,

As we step away from the warmth of Thanksgiving, our hearts brim with gratitude – for the freedoms we cherish and for a community that stands united in a pivotal cause. Today, we pivot our gratitude towards action, sharing with you the significant strides we’ve made this November.

Our hotline has continued to serve as a critical lifeline. This month alone, it has been a beacon of hope for 11 new survivors, while providing continued support to 9 others. This milestone has been possible only because of your steadfast support.

We’re also enhancing our educational outreach. A new, comprehensive video library is in the works, aimed at empowering businesses to recognize and combat human trafficking.

This month heralded new alliances with pivotal organizations like the National Center On Missing & Exploited Children and Guardrail Technologies. These partnerships are vital in building robust defenses against exploitation.

Our commitment to accessibility and community engagement is evident in the launch of three new satellite offices. These spaces will enhance our impact and presence within the community.

Our Men Against Human Trafficking program is breaking new ground. It aims to reshape perceptions and inspire change through the power of storytelling.

Our upcoming ‘Report Card’ initiative will empower voters to hold leaders accountable for their stance on human trafficking, ensuring that your vote makes a real difference in supporting survivors.

The success of our 12th Annual Joint Forum is a testament to the power of collaboration. Bringing together 26 anti-trafficking forces, this event highlighted a unified vision for a trafficking-free Florida.

Our plea is heartfelt – the sustainability of our work hinges on our ability to support crucial team members like Brenda Cloud, whose contributions are integral to our daily operations.

We are deeply thankful for your support, which has been the cornerstone of our progress. Let’s continue this journey from gratitude to action, ensuring that freedom and hope are not just ideals, but realities for all.

In solidarity and with appreciation,

Tomas J. Lares
